At this time the Editorial Board had its first meetings to decide a cover, layout, theme, and content of the book. Different staffs were responsible for particular phases of the book. The first one to employ its talents was the Literary Staff, whose mem- bers wrote for many long hours in order to complete the seniors' individual write-ups. all of which were typed by the Typing Staff. The Art Staff furnished the art worl-:g the Photography Staff. the pictures. To aid the other staffs, when- ever its assistance was needed. was the function of the Auxiliary Staff. These staffs united their efforts toward a common goal, that of producing a suc- cessful annual. The MEMORIES staffs will long remember the many amusing times that occurred in the new annual office. It was first invaded by a crew armed with pails and mops who energetically began to clean and rearrange the room. Later in the year another invasion occurred, the intruders appearing this time at night in the form of mice. Late in the day, after performing laborious tasks and hash- ing out various problems, our tired editors stumbled blindly along the darkened hallways only to he welcomed by the thought of more homework. These incidents, along with many others, will add to the memories of those who were a part of this yearbook. Constantly advising and guiding the members of this annual were the three faculty advisers: Miss Brummerstedt. Miss Eischer. and Mr. Willever. Everyone affiliated with MEMORIES '53 extends his heartfelt thanks to them for the encouragement, inspiration, and counsel which they have given.
