D A ' 1 7 , , - , V , g S 7 A I a iff The Champion ifeei , S SWIMMING TEAM Bloomfield High has had a swimming team for the past three years During this period the boys have made rapid progress under the rnstructron of Richard Cheadle who has been annually producing a better team The first season there was no official captain but john Morgan undertook the lead ership of the group Because of inexperlentc and lack of practice thc team was able to win only four of its ten scheduled meets The second year with Stephen Schuyler as captain brought out new men and more ability Despite handicaps they were able to finish the season w ith fue uctorious battles and five losses At the end an official banquet was held at which Donald Price was elected captain of the next year This past season has proved to be the most ey entful of all Eight out of tcn meets were won and B H S was represented in the State Swimming Championship The team managed to gain third place in a four man two hundred yard relay losing first place by only a few seconds The Swimming Team in th1s school w1ll continue to grow and adyance but thc members will not consider themselves entirely successful until a state meet has been won Page Eighty One l i 1 a , , - ' - ,' , , ,- a ' 1 , -l, - , i ,, - 1 1 1 1' 1 1 1 a 1 1 1 .
