Field Hockey An increasingly popular sport at Bloomfield this year was girls field hockey. Hard drives, good stick- work, and close team play proved a successful formula for a winning record. The first team began the season by defeating Water- ford and Harper Woods in two successive days, 5-1 and 9-0. After a three-day break, they suffered their only loss to Grosse Pointe University School by a score of 2-0. A nine-day rest did them much good as they came back to overcome their next three opponents: Kings- wood, Sacred Heart and Waterford, and end the season with a five and one record. They also placed three members of their squad on the All-Star team. Lucy Barnes and Pat Johnson were on the starting team, while Laura Tucker joined the reserves Miss Deschaine, who coached the girls, rewarded their efforts with pizza. The second team played the same opponents Qwith the exception of Harper Vifoodsl and won two, tied two and lost one. They scored a season's total of eleven goals to their opponents four. The second team also had 'hree munbers who joined the All Stars. Bev Pollock played on the second team, while Mary Jocelyn and Chris Klintworth received honorable mention. A good season and a good future is apparent from these results. Shirley Smith races down field for a goal attempt. Laura Tucker keeps the ball for a goal Forty
