The team got off to a slow start. However, after the team had a chance to develop,it began to win regular- ly,using a ball-contro-1 style of play. Even when the Wildcats lost, it was usually by a close score. The high point of the season was the Parma Invitational Tournament held at Parma, Missouri, Dec. 30-Jan. 3, in which the Wildcats won first place honors. Their opening game in the tournament was with Bernie, whom they defeated 34-33. In the quarter-finals the Wildcats faced Gray Ridge, taking a 49-45 victory from them in overtime. The semi-finals found the Wildcats against the Parma Pirates. Bloomfield edged out the Pirates in another close game 31-29. In the finals, the Wildcats won a bitterly contested game from Essex 37-34. Each game was exciting up to its breathless finish, and certainly no other of their victories could have been more satisfying than these to the team. t,, T 41
