Wildcats 65 - Dexter Bearcats 40 This was the first traditional battle be- tween our neighbors from the south and the Wildcats. Coach Shubloms boys were really right. Weldon Harris was really beginning to come around and his playing was rillant in this game, as he scored nineteen goints and set up Red Wilson for 17, Paul P elan for 14, and Willis Jennin s for 12. This was one of the games we willgalways remember. Wildcats 3I - Fisk Pirates 30 This was one game where the Wildcats changed their fast break tactics to a slow ball control type of game and slowed down the tall boys from Butler Country, and eased past them 3I to 30. Paul Phelan tallied I7 points to lead the attack, Wildcats 48 - Advance Hornets 45 This was a very close game all the wa , and a good one to win. Red Wilson had 163i Wildon Harris tt, and Paul Phelan ro to lead the way. Puxico Indians 90 - Wildcats 55 This was a good game in spite of the score. Just too much rebounding power for the Wildcats to cope with. Five menscored over 20 points in this game. Red Wilson had 22 and Paul Phelan had 2I for the Wildcats 2 of the five. Essex Pirates 76 - Wildcats 57 The Essex boys got hot in the 4th quarter after trailing for three quarters and soon eas- ily won. Red Wilson had 20 points, and Paul Phelan had IS. St. Mary's Bulldogs 70 - Wildcats 49 The tall boys from Cope were still too much for our smallerbo s and beat us again. Red Wilson and Paul Phelan had 31 points between them. Gray Ridge 39 - Wildcats 34 The Wildcats had a cold first half and got going late in the second half, but couldn't quite catch the Panthers. Wildcats 77 - Dexter Bearcats 44 This game was played at Bloomfield and again the Wildcats played one of their best games of the season. Bloomfield led all the way. This was the first time in ten games that Coach Shublom used more than 5 men as he used Colyer and Pruitt. Red Wilson and Paul Phelan each scored 22 points in this game. Willis Jennings had 14, Weldon Har- ris had 12. Don Barney returned to the squad and started getting in shape. Wildcats 54 - Essex Pirates 52 The Wildcats evened the score for sea- sonal play with Essex as they niptped them in a close game played at Bloom ield.
