The Future Homemakers of America is a national organization of pupils studying homemaking in the high schools of the U. S., Hawaii and Puerto Rico. It is a non-profit organization with 8 purposes, of- fering opportunity to develop social qualities, promote better home life, encourage democracy, promote international good will, provide wholesome individual and group recreation and to further interests in Home Economics. The Bloomfield Chapter is one of 6,108 affiliated chapters and supplies 53 of the 237,133 members in 47 states and territories, lt was organized in 1949 and has made great progress, Among the major activities of the year were a Men's Fashion Show, Emily Post Week, Slave Day, Revenge Day, trip to Sub-District Meeting where one of our members was elected Sub-District Secre- tary, FFA-FHA Party, and the purchase of a punch bowl and cups set for the Home Economics Department, with some of the over S100 made from their activities.
