LAWRENCE, Supervisor JOHN FRENCH, Coordinator Student using hand tools The well-equipped work shop of Instructor John French also serves as class room for the eighteen veterans learning carpentry as a trade. This class, which began training in December, l948, studies four days each week from Carpentry textbooks selected by the State Department of Education. They use the work shop to practice what they have learned. As a work project in construction, this class has recently completed a modern Home Economics Cottage for Bloomfield High School. The Carpentry Class, which is a phase of the Adult Education Program, has -as its objective to more adequately train veterans in the carpentry trade, thus enabling them to provide a higher standard of living for their families. John T. Lawrence, Supt. of Bloomfield S'chools, is administrator of the program. 32
