TI-1E BEE The bee is not a spasmodie worker. XVhen it has a few meals ahead it does not eease work. It does I10f trade tl1e honey it has gathered and stored for things that have no value. It banks tl1e honey in the hive and withdraws it only as re- quired for sustenanee. The bee stores more honey than is required for food in order that it may not starve in the days when there are no blossoms. If the bee is swallowed by a sparrow or crushed by some care- less person's shoe, the honey that it llflS'Sf0I'Pfl helps the others that survive. The bee does not wait for the full bloom of summer to be- gin work. It begins work with the 4-oming of spring time. The blossoms of the plum, the peat-h and the apple, the linden and the hawthorne, the elm and maple, the wild tlowers of the woods, tl1e dandelion and the strawberry, the clover and the alfalfa fields, tl1e tlowers of the garden-all these yield the silver and gold for storage, and are no harmed by the welrome visit of the bee, when it calls tor the annual contributions. The idle dro-ne is driven out of the hive in disgraee. There is no plat-e tor the idler in the world of bees, nor in the world of men. The world supplies a thousand sourres ot wealth to those who have the industry to garner what nature provides. How many of the class ot 1924 have the wisdom to emulate the industry and thrift of the bee? The National Bank of Bloomfield
