Robert Sturgis Bob was one of the most consistent and eonseientions football players that ever wore the maroon and gold. He had both weight and speed, and knew how to use thein to good advantage. He is a two-year letter nian. Martin Uruiksbank f'rnikshank played in the baekfleld and proved to be a ground grainer. His great strenfzth was his nrlin asset. 'l'his was his tlrst year on the grid- iron. Herman Horn Pete Horn is eaptain eleet for the f'0llllllf.5,' season. This was his flrst year to don football togs, but he punched the line like an old timer. Herbert Hill Herb won his position at taekle early in the season. Ile downed his nian when he hit him, for he hit like a pile driver. Fhester Porter Cher-ker played end. He was new to the game, but defied the opj ponents to try to eirele his end. lVonn Anderson Red won a position at guard this season. He is not heavy, in faet. he is light for a line man: but he is the kind who would rather be brought bark on his shield than go down to defeat. Fi ft yft me

i w Fifty Alfred YVhite Pete White played the center posie tion. When the opponents had the hall, they soon found that it was use- less to try to gain anything through renter. They eould never get hy hini unless they walked over him, and he didn't allow that often. This is his seeond year to reeeive a B. Charles Craven Shorty was one of the fastest and shiftiest open Held runners in the haekfleld. Never say down, seemed to he his motto. 'l'his is his second year to receive a letter. Claude Porter Claude was alraekfield man. He was speedy, and had he had proper interference, he would have gone around end as if wearing the seven league boots. This is his ilrst year to win a letter. Carl Aslnnead AShlIlP21d was a recruit--like a good many of Bloon1f1eld's xnen this season. He played guard and he was very faithful in his practice. Dwight Rupe Dwight received a letter this year for the first time. He is a fearless and plucky end. LeRoy MeAv0y MeAvoy worked hard and deserves a great deal of credit as a football player. He won a letter in this his first season out for football and his fourth year in B. H. S.

Football Banquet The boys of the '23 football squad gathered with several of their friends on February 4th, to enjoy the annual football banquet of B. H. S. The banquet was served by the Home Economics girls. The tables were beautifully decorated with candles, and in the center of each table was a small football and field. All took part in a very effective toast program. At the close of the banquet, Herman Horn was elected to lead the warriors of '24. Letters were then given to those who had played the required num- ber of quarters, Herbert Hilllbeing mentioned as the only one who had played all of the quarters. The boys reluctantly departed from so enjoyable an evening, feel- ing that a successful season had closed very pleasantly indeed. ' TOAST rRooRAM Toastmaster- Pete Horn l. Victory - - - - ftPete Horn CTrc1ck All track events of the 1924 season were held on Bloomfield's new athletic field. Due to the heavy rains, practice was not started until late. But the men worked hard, and, before the season closed, they had proved themselves good athletes. ' ' 1 V. The meet of greatest interest was that between the classes, which was held April 29. The winner in each class was awarded a medal, the winning class received a pennant. This pennant was won by the Seniors. The local athletes went to Milton, May 17th, to compete with representatives from Milton and Pulaski. The B. H. S. lads VVOII the meet. The only new local high school record made was that by Floyd llubbartt in the high jump. I' lfts Iwo
