Football Bloomfield reeeived a blow last year when eleven of the tifteen letter men were graduated. The remaining number, however, held high hopes for the eoming year. Some twenty-tive reported to Coach Brown for praetiee, and from that time on, the process of rounding out the squad made steady progress. 'Phe season began with a defeat by Ft. Madison, but not without advantages to the losers, for this game gave the inexperieneed men many good pointers. 'l'he season progressed nicely until the team was hardened and eflieient. The last game was played against Milton on Thanksgiving llay. liloomiield had won from these opponents three sueeessive years, and seemed eapable ot' reeording another vietory. A snowy rain was falling, making it almost impossible for either team to make goal. llloomiield seored a goal in the tirst quarter and drop-kieked for the additional point. From then on it was just hard fighting on both sides. 'l'he game ended with a tinal score of seven to nothing in Bloom- iielul's favor. 'Phe season as a whole eould not be termed a failure, bet-.uuse of the training and enjoyment gained by the players. A. T. lirown, Uoaeh Brown proved to B. H. S, that he knew his work. Although the average made was not high, the team was a - strong one, eonsidering: the fact that most of the men were new to the game. Arthur was liked by all his men, and they hope that he is bark next season. 4Ulde'4'ovy t'l'4-te Coy eaptained the team through the past season. His battle ery was. Fight gang! Fight! -and he praetieed what he preaehed. Pete 4. was in every play that he eould pos- sibly get into. This makes his fourth year to reeeive a letter. Bloomfield has lost a haektield man and athlete who will be hard to replaee. islllil Xllll

i w Fifty Alfred YVhite Pete White played the center posie tion. When the opponents had the hall, they soon found that it was use- less to try to gain anything through renter. They eould never get hy hini unless they walked over him, and he didn't allow that often. This is his seeond year to reeeive a B. Charles Craven Shorty was one of the fastest and shiftiest open Held runners in the haekfleld. Never say down, seemed to he his motto. 'l'his is his second year to receive a letter. Claude Porter Claude was alraekfield man. He was speedy, and had he had proper interference, he would have gone around end as if wearing the seven league boots. This is his ilrst year to win a letter. Carl Aslnnead AShlIlP21d was a recruit--like a good many of Bloon1f1eld's xnen this season. He played guard and he was very faithful in his practice. Dwight Rupe Dwight received a letter this year for the first time. He is a fearless and plucky end. LeRoy MeAv0y MeAvoy worked hard and deserves a great deal of credit as a football player. He won a letter in this his first season out for football and his fourth year in B. H. S.
