Class History An important eve11t took plaee 011 September ll, 1923, when ifllf! en- tranee of the largest elass of Freshmen ever enrolled in Bloomfield Iiigh Sehool up to tl1is time was witnessed byla large number of Sopho- mores, Juniors, and S6lll0l'S. The elass entered with a determination to win and to bring forth good seholars a11d good athletes. This class was subjeet to the usual ordeal at the iii-st of tl1e year --initiations. Apparently all Sophomores, and 111a11y others besides, en- joyed administering the annual whippings. This seemed to give the Freshies the necessary start, for from that moment they grew ill pron1i11- euee Zllld power. The members of the c-lass, wishing to heeome better acquainted. dec-ided that it would be altogether proper that they have a weiner roast. The plan was carried out sueeessfully, allll as a result each felt that he knew his elassmates better than before. Later, o11 February 16, the Sophomores very kindly and wonderfully entertained the Freshmen at a Valentine party. The members have not only applied themselves to books, but to athletics as well. Basketball was the leading sport for both boys and girls. The boys 6Ilt0l'91l the intern-lass basketball tournament, and. even though they did 11ot win, they proved themselves to be worthy basketball players. They were also well represented in the interelass track meet, but were tlgillll unable to plaee for the pennant. i Ill the loeal lleelamatory Vontest, it was a Freshman who carried oft iirst ll0ll0l'S i11 the dramatic- division. Even though she lost in the Pl'0llIlllll2ll'y Co11test,,s Y I'01ll'HS6l1i'Pll llloomiield lligh Sehool very credit- ably. The class of 92 was also l'6lll'9S8Ilil-Nl in the Debating Club, the Glee Clubs, a11d the Orchestra.
