Class History September 6, 1921, was a very important date to seventy-six boys and girls. It marked the opening of a new era in their lives -the be- ginning of their high school career. A few days were required for them to get settled in their classes and to get their work under way. Then nothing eventful happened, except such blunders as all Freshmen make. until March 16. On that evening the Freshmen were entertained by the Sophomoresat a masquerade party with the decorations and refreshments 0i!l'l':flIlg out the idea of St. Patrick's Day. In the latter part of the year, preparations were made for the Ileclamatory Contest. 011e of the members of the Freshman class carried off iirst honors in the humorous division. ln their second year, the class of '25 seemed more enthusiastic. and entered more heartily into the High School activities. The Freshman-Sophomore entertainment was a valentine party, which was given on February 16. Later the class decided to attempt another entertainment in the form of a Wiener roast. A few weeks later another wiener roast was held. 4' . In the local Declamatory Contest, three Sophomores were entered, one taking first in the humorous class, and another taking second in the oratorical. In the subdistrict contest, second honor was awarded to the local humorous winner. The Junior year brought forth better results in all respects. The social activities began with a wiener roast held in a neighboring pasture, and closed with the Junior-Senior banquet, the iirst banquet held in the ncw High School building. In the Declamatory Contest, five Juniors were entered, one taking first in the oratorical class, another taking second in the dramatic class, and still another taking second in the humorous class. In the Debating League, composed of ten members, five were Juniors. Two of them succeeded in making the second team, and one made the first team. In the Inter-class Track Meet held on April 29th, the Juniors tied for second place. Even though the class has not been very prominent in athletics, its rank in scholarship has been very good.
