SENIOR CLASS HISTURY We, the Seniors of '52, arose from our little beds on a beautiful Septenber nornlng in the year of 19 O to start on our way to school Yes, our first day of school was so new and different from our days of fre dom at home This being our flrst day, we w ren't disclplined too much and were al low d to get acqualnted So many dlfferent faces some laughing and some wlth tear streaked faces yelling for their Mommies With our wonderful and understanding teacher, Miss Muir, we quickly became adjusted to our new life which was to go on for twelve whole years Now in the second grade we were well adjusted to the three R's reading, 'riting, and 'rithmetic We found school to be quite interesting, but, of course, the time spent out of doors was what we enjoyed best One gaze we liked espe clally well was Wolfn In this game the boys chased the girls and the obgect wa for the g1rls to keep away from them. Now, none of your nasty thoughts, such as, 'Gee, how theJ'vc changed' Also thls year, the grades had an operetta in whlch we we e Indlans This we could never forget t least not the g'1l since the blg Senior Boys plcked us up and carrled us off stage at the end of our ct Our teacher th1s year was Miss Myers We advanced on to our third year wlth Mrs Shanklin as our teacher and then we became fourth graders wlth Mrs Long 'She Didn't Believe The glrls were nisletoe and holly and the boys were locomotives The leading part was claimed by nobody else but a renber of our own class, Dot Brown This year H IPBD Krcais moved to Bascon but we ga1ned Joe Russell fr m A cadla nd Evelyn Jones from North Ba timore in return. Then we became flfth graders with Mrs Babcock as our teacher We were beglnning to feel rather important and thought of ourselves as well on our way to becoming grown ups After all, we were for the first year on the top floor wlth the high school kids As sixth graders, Mrs Faylor tried to prepare us for Jr. High and Mr Deckard This year Merle Lee moved here from West Hope We found the seventh grade to be a wonderful change from tn elencntary gr des We were n w llowed to elect our ow: Cff'0c s and.ins eva of staying ir one room all day we I ' 5 3 A Q 1 , x O . l I - G . . Time started to move more than before, and we rushed around like crazy people, even allowed to be lH the big study hall wlth the the upper vrades We were proud to present our first play when w the eighth grade, It was only Q but what a time we h d preparlng P T A This year w tained tqree Phil Bresler, and Jim Lewls, all from N st Mlllgrove quickly Ne were rest of were in Elmer one act play called it for our assembly and new members Paul Bleneman, In ' 9 we became Freshm n with Mr Acock as our spon sor Je were flnally in hlgh school nd now grown up We felt! Ve started our nad struggle of raising money for our Senior year Dave Perry moved here from Fa t Liberty, Wh n w became Sofhono es with Mr Zimmerman as our sponsor we w re beglnnlrg to have a few problems One was paying b ek dues whlcb orovel quite diflweult Another prob lem was our nDad's D Ju hcno ll? the fathers of the football players Tni honor wa 5iven to Mr Troece We gained Jan Ludlow from Teipsic, Rose Marie Campbell from VHughHSV1116, and hernan Kre is return d to our grade tFlS year, Brandeberry ns Juniors our flrst important event was the Homecoming celebratlon This took much time nd work, Nc decorated th auditorlum as a football field for the blg dance which followed the game Tne class play was our second big head ache The name of our pl 5 wa NDotty ard Daffy , which was 3 h1larious comedy Wlth the help of our sponsor, Mrs, Dunh m, and Mr xcocks, we were able to make it grand suc ce s, Tren came the Junlor Senior Prom All our efforts were r w rd d by 1 finished product of which we were very proud x be utifully decorwted dance floor with our theme, 'Moonli ht an Roses , e rri d thoughou Th1S year we g 1n 3 Carole Purkey from North Baltimore, and 'l Cramer from FJStOIlQ n now, The Seniors , The blg kids who, it seems to underclassman, are always getting their own way and bossing everyone around We hope that we aren't disliked t greutly, after ll, everyone has his turn and you will feel much d1fferent when you re the Seniors, T513 year there is no free time but we love it! V startel our busy year following our football team around to see th m cone out nf the struggkaas'Champs of Wood County, The season was closed with the big Homeconing Celebration which is unforgettable.
