BAND OFFICERS Pres1dent Louxs Stearns V1ce Presxdent Florm Treece Secretary Treasurer Joyce Kleckner Reporter Janette Frxes ACTIVITIES Startmg the school year w1th a new dxrector Mrs Engle the band has advanced 111 members and ab1l1ty At the begmnmg of the year, the band learned to march quzte well and later learned to play themr mstruments and march at the same tmme quzte well Due to the a1d of the newly organ member now has trousers and a hat and the tw1rlers have new uxuforms also The next step will be to get coats for the band members The money was raxsed by the co operat1on of the band mothers and band members through bake sales, tag day concerts, and dances The band made an appearance m Bowlmg Green at a contest for the Wood County Fest1val At Hallowe en the band marched through Bloorndale leadlng the parade to the town hall, where they played several selectxons The band also played at a concert featurmg the V F W Band of Fostor1a Appear ances were made at the home basketball games at wh1ch the band formed the letter B for the home team and the letter of the opposmg tearn. Sev eral stunts were also performed at the games The band played at the County Tournarnent at Bowlmg Green th1S year At the spnng mus1c fest1val held Ln May the band was featured, also The Junror Band wh1ch consxsts of twenty hve members who have been practlcmg hard at the1r musxc work m hopes of getting to Jom the bxg hlgh school band, w1.ll be admxtted to the high school band sometlme 111 the near future Arnong the pla.ns for next year IS Included the hope of obtammg more un usual musxcal mstruments for the band such as an oboe a bassoon, and an alto clarinet 30 ized Band Mothers Club, we have obtained badly needed uniforms.
