SE NIOR HIST OR Y In September 1937, twenty nme boys and g1rls started to school mn Velma McLaughl1n s flrst grade Of that twenty nme only the followmg are UI the Sen1or Class Joyce Brown Louxs Stearns Opal We1ker Tom Brandeberry Shxrley Shanklm Mxldred Reddm Dale Z1egler, Charles Sterlmg Dxck Nye James Dunn and Robert Metz In the thxrd grade Mary Baxer jomed us for a few weeks then left us only to come back agaum thxs year Janette l-'nes moved up from the tenth grade to the twelfth grade makmg a total of tlurteen m the Semor Class The teachers who guxded us along the way were f1rst Velma Mc Laughlm second Ruth Mu1r thlrd Louxse Wade fourth Susan Yost fxfth Beulah Kolter and sxxth Clyde Su-non ln I943 we thought we were pretty bxg by enterlng Junlor I-hgh Th1s year we lost almost half of our class The mam event of the exghth grade was a party at the home of Dlck Nye Mrs Kleckner was our sponsor sponsor Mrs Stoudxnger was kmd enough to 1nv1te us to have our Chrlstrnas Party at her home but we wonder 11' she was trymg to black mall some of us by takxng plctures of us when we weren t lookmg As Sophomores we had several events We ordered our class rmgs and served at the Alumnl Banquet Mrs Stoudxnger was k1nd enough to stand us another year by belng our sponsor In the Junxor year we had a play Peggy Was Great m whlch the followmg partlclpated James Dunn Lou1s Stearns Joyce Brown Mxldred Reddm Shlrley Shanklm Opal We1ker Dlck Nye Dale Zxegler Duane Remhard and Beverly Avent We want to thank Mr Deckard for bemg our dlrector At the end of the year there was the Jun1or Semor Banquet at the Phoemx Hotel m Fmdlay Flnally xt has happened th1s year we are Senlors It was a long hard struggle but we made It We have sponsored the Crawford Brothers Radxo Show, sold refreshments at the football and some of the basketball games and had a Pancake Supper for the purpose of ra1s mg money to have a class trlp We are all lookmg forward to that nxght when we walk across the stage and recelve our dxplomas 7 In l945, we entered the ninth grade and Mrs. Stoudinger was our
