They have three of the cutest chrldren, all of whom look l1ke Joyce but who act lxke therr father m the manner of bemg devrhsh Joyce has qurte a txme wxth her nezghbors B111 and Opal They moved just a short dlstance from Louls and Joyce Opal has fmally learned how to make a ple wluch has a crust tender enough for B111 to eat He had qu1te a tune at f1rst buymg Bromo Seltzer for the stomach ache her ples gave hlm Bxll now owns a restaurant m Wayne where he sells Opal s p1es at a dollar a dozen He used the slogan Better than your baby daughter could make Speakmg of farmers, we mustn t forget Bob Metz He s one of the bachelors of the Class of 49 He s been waltmg years now, for Mary Ba1er to say yes but everytune he asks her she s always ready wxth an excuse to say button and mechamcal robots do the work. R ' I l V 4 is e M-Q ae!-.gg ELEIVENTH GRADE Class Officers and Sponsor President Dwight Emmltt V1ce President Harold Schroeder Secretary Treasurer Margaret Dunn Reporters Maryalxce Gooch Joyce Kleckner Student Council Jim Rosendale Sponsor John Deckard CLASS ACTIVITIES We all came back to school very ambitious this fall all ready to work with zeal The ambition wore off within two weeks The second week we recewed our rmgs They are very unique, with and joy Don t be surprised if you see girls wearing rings about four times too big for their little fingers fWe wonder where they got them ?l On December Z 1948 we had a three act play called The I-lenpecked Husband directed by Mr Deckard The following students were in 1t, Dwight Emm1tt Mary Metz, Todd Simon, Pat McGra1n, Margaret Dunn Jack Elder, Mollie Elder Maryahce Gooch Joyce Kleckner, Firmm Yost and Jim Rosendale This 1S the second three act play that we have had since we have been in high school Last year we acted out a play directed by Mrs Stoudinger, called Bolts and Nuts Both of these plays really helped our fund, which we are steadily increasing for the Junior Senior Banquet and the class trip as Seniors Durmg February we served a banquet for the school personnel which was held m honor of our former superintendent Mr Treece It was the first time the Juniors have served anyone We we re told that everyone enjoyed our meal which consisted of cocktail, escalloped potatoes, baked ham vegetable salad peas and carrots, pie and ice cream We are all looking forward to the Junior and Senior Banquet, whxch will take place sometime in May After that we will have only one more year of school to look forward to The next time you hear from us, we will be Seniors 18 our initials on the outside, and a big B in the middle.
