Bloom Captures the Spirit Trojan fans definirely had rhe Bloom spirit during rhis year's Homecoming week. The spirit was generated through rhe halls and was car- ried onto rhe field during rhe annual Homecom- ing game. Sprit Week was well received by everyone which helped to start rhe new school year off right. The week began with Favorite T-shirt day on Tuesday, October 13. Many supportive Trojans exhibited rhe names of rheir favorite schools on their shirrs. When the cavalry rode into town, many Bloom students were a parr of it as they donned rheir western duds for Western Day, Wednesday, October 14. The next day allowed every Trojan to be an individual os he or she displayed a favorite thing. Friday, October 16 brought rhe traditional Blue and Whire Day, rhe dimax of rhe week's activities. The highlight of rhe day was rhe Pep Assembly in McCann Gym. The Senior Class won rhe Spirit Jug for rhe fourth year in a row. A special addition to rhe assembly was a juggling act by Mr. Piaskovy, a new math teacher. Spirits were high as rhe day flew by. Nexr came rhe Pep-O-Rama Parade, which was held at 5:00 along rhe streets of Chicago Heights, ending or Bloom. VIC A won rhe Best Decorated Float, and rhe Junior Class won rhe Best Deco- rated Cor. As rhe nighr wore on, rhe spirited Trojans displayed rheir true colors by bearing rhe Thorn- ton Wildcats, 24-14, in rhe annual Homecoming game. All in all, Homecoming Week was a satisfying experience for everyone.
