Tony Kudra tests the reflexes of Rhodina Cov- ington as the rest of Mr. Lee Sirnonek's Psy- chology class looks on. History can be dull, but Miss Linda Byrd's classes donit think so. Gary White, senior, appears to disagree to the reasons Freddie Jean Moore, junior, is giving for England's taxes, as other delegates, Steve Grant, senior, Cynthia Larson and Tony Angellotti, juniors, wait to voice their opinions. Debates are one of the many ways Miss Byrd keeps her pupils awake. JoAnne Michael and Suzanne Murphy await Mr: Robert Hippensteel's signal to begin their daily orchestra practice. Jim Franklin, junior, displays his knowledge of the tele- scope to his Earth Science classmates as Mr. Robert Nemoyer evaluates his report.

General Courses- the Choice of Undecided Students As others impatiently await their turn, Mike DeLaurentis joyfully accepts his copy of Giants in the Earth, a full length novel by Ole Ralvaag, from Miss Bertha Lewis, English III instructor. Being able to express his feelings through his work is a Characteristic ability of an artistg here, in Mr. Albert Piarowskfs Art IV class, Alberta Agostini and Sue Col- burn test their artistic ability. Well, you finally made it, high school-your big step. Now you can feel big, but you also have a lot of big thinking to do. What courses are you going to take? Many know for sure, but an equal num- ber is undecided. These are the students that en- rollin the general education classes. Besides taking the required subjects, such as Eng- lish and history, they fill their schedule with other interesting electives. Through these courses, stu- dents can develop their artistic or musical abili- ties, gain experience through practice, or find the field to which they are suited.

'War X-.. 'Q .,.. I To be able to entertain and care for children is one of the skills developed in Homemaking II class. Tomorrow's Homemakers Develop Their Skills Of course we have all gotten a whiff of some mouth-watering aroma while passing through the Homemaking building. Gosh, it smells goodg wha could they be making today? Or maybe you've heard the industrious whirr of a sewing machine and soon afterwards saw your friend displaying the dress she had made. Have you yet seen the shrunken freshmen? Theylre really future fresh- men, for these are the children participating in the Child Development classes. Homemaking classes prepare tomorrow's mothers and home managers to enter their new life with skill and experience which they otherwise would not have acquired. Melody Inucci, Marianne Currier, and Joyce Capriotti il- lustrate the steps involved in sewing a skirt in Survey of Homemaking class, which teaches senior girls to sew and cook. As Melody happily sews, Joyce seems confused as slze pins the pattern to the material, and, pressing her fin- ished product, Marianne looks both proud and pleased.
