A Night With The Muses A Night with the Muses was the theme ot the annual Roman Banquet, held this year on March 4. A program follow- ing the dinner honored the various muses, such as Clio, the muse of historyg Terpsi- chore, the muse of dancing, and Thailia, muse of comedy. The night ended with everyone joining in Gaudeamus Igitur in honor ot Polyhymnia, muse of sacred music. Rubracucula, or in English, Little Red Riding Hood, is portrayed by Larry Newman and Sandra Stewart. 4

Pep Assemblies Work Up Steom Sparked by the newly organized pep club, Bloom cheering reached a new high. Attendance at pep as- semblies improved. For variety, the cheerleaders planned skits, such aslthe one pictured at left, and made it a pleasure tor Trojans to back their teams. Lett: Al Inwood interviews a representative of the basketball team in an attempt to get an unbiased opinion ot the Trojans' chances in the Thornton game. Even Entertoinment ls Educotiono Throughout the year Bloomites were treated to assemblies presented by the music department, the U. N. Club, or outside talent, in addition to regular athletic and class assemblies. No one knew what the program would be, as classes crowded into their alloted rows. Perhaps the Balantines, with musical selections, or a trip through outer space. The annual U, N. assembly tea- tured a skit, and Parade ot Flags. Right: U. N. Pat Noll and Angeline Rotolo are movin' along Side by Side. ,. ww Girls escorted their favorite valentines to the Mother-Daughter banquet, Heart of My Heart. lt was the daughters who were doing the giving this time, as they treated Moms to turkey din- ners, flowers, and entertainment in a red and white valentine setting. The Girls' League mem- bers who worked selling tickets, planning menus, or decorating under the direction of Miss E. Cal- lender and Miss O. Theobald, were repaid for their work by the pleasure and enjoyment of the girls and their Moms. 27
