CAR DAY Front Row: C. Froncek, T. Bartolini, B. Nietzel, M. Brown, J. Curcio. What would I like to be? heads the list of questions confronting the average high school student. Career Day at Bloom affords that student an opportunity to learn more about the type of work he is considering. Each student, excluding freshmen, signs up for two conferences of his choice, after choosing from a list of 90 different occupations and professions, ranging from nuclear engineering to pattern-making. The speaker of each conference session has been invited by the school officials and has been selected as one competent to lecture on his respective career. He speaks to the students following an outline they prepared on the advantages, disadvantages, training, and serv-, ice of his vocation. Later a question and answer period follows. The freshmen spend the greater part of Career Day in vocational testing, while the seniors have the option of going on a field trip or attending a conference session. Career Day, under the general supervision of Mr. Harold Schneider, assisted by 27 teachers on committees and 210 students, sheds new light on many careers and makes a significant contri- bution, which can be measured only over many years through the lives of Bloom students. Front Row: Mr. Alan Andersen, Miss An- nette Gioannini, Mr. Harold Schneider, Mayor Ed Cialcowski. L

Jllll 0R MBU' Patricia DeLorenzo, Magdelene Foushi, Arlene Bogacz, and Janiene Chenard skip lightly in their Scottish dress to the tune of My Bon- nie Lassie during the Junior class assembly. Saint Peter and his angels were hon- ored guests as the junior class presented Rock and Roll to Heaven with the Class of '57, at an all-school assembly Decem- ber 9. A group of highland lasses twirled their kilts to My Bonnie Lassie, while a purely American rendition of Rock-a- Beatin'-Boogie was beat out by pink and black clad juniors. A hillbilly parody of Yellow Rose of Texas provided comic relief, while the Aragoosa County Boys enlightened students about the birds and the bees in Man Phiba. With such dreamy music, the assembly was destined to be applauded as heavenly, simply heavenly! Cynthia Walsh, Rosalind Napoleon, and Stephanie Harte enthusiastically act out the story of the mamma, pappa, and wee bear, while singing to the tune of the Three Wee Bears. Steve Benson, Dan MacMaster, Don Harte, Roscoe Reeve, Virgil Hoff, and Chuck Kline are all dressed in their finest garb as they sing to the tune of Man Phiba during the Junior class assembly, Rock and Roll to Heav- en with the Class of '57.
