Jllll 0R P NNY 06 Al Part of the immense crowd at the Penny Social watches Mike Schleyer shoot for the hoop at the Basketball Throw Booth. Going! Going! Gone! rings over the microphone as some ardent junior does his best to sell a homemade cake at the junior Penny Social. Fish ponds, fortune tellers, basketball contests, flying saucers, spook houses, and penny-pitching events make the boys' gym look like a profes- sional three-ring circus as well as earn some money for the junior class. The students are under the close super- vision of other student policemen who give tickets for such inexcusable abuses as talking and breathing. Fines are payable immediately! All in all, the Junior Penny Social affords a good time to everyone and is the big day for the junior class.

M070 R-DA 06075 Adrienne Zahler and Doris Nelson clown around during a skit at the Mother-Daughter banquet. Adrienne's hair-do is dashing, BANG llfl' Lavish oooooh's and ahhhhh's were sported by three hundred senior girls as they proudly led their mothers into the cafeteria for the annual Mother- Daughter banquet. The banquet, which was held on Leap Day this year, February 29, tickled everyone's appetite with a delicious plate of roast turkey, cran- berry sauce and dressing. The theme, Girl of My Dreams, was carried through even in the entertainment which centered around MOTHER. Soft, shell pink and silver was car- ried out in the decorations of modern mobiles and silhouettes. After the banquet was over, remarks could be heard to the effect that: A good time was had by all. 17

Some work from 7:50-10:30 in the morning before attending school, while others go to school part of the morning and then begin working at 12:30. Besides learning and practicing their pro- fessions, the 32 students in Diversified Occu- pations receive a minimum pay every two weeks to the tune of 75C an hour. Two credits are also received. These work-while-you-learn students have third hour set aside each day for a Diversified Occupations class under the general supervision of Mr. john Prombo of the Industrial Educa- tion department. Grades are determined by the type of work they do in the business outside of school and also by their progress while under the supervision of Mr. Prombo.
