Here is Where many a future secretary gets her start. These aspiring seamstresses discover the secrets of putting in zippers, taking tucks, and other tricks of the trade. Soon enough proficiency is gained to turn out garments fit for any fashion show.

These freshman songsters have high hopes that they will graduate to the Boys Glee club in the near future. Sh! Let's take a peek at the new class in Mr. Hippensteel's room. lt's called music theory and is a study of music throughout the world. Although it is for piano students, anyone who has interest or talent in music finds this course stimulating and entertaining. Here We see Edna joracz at the blackboard taking over for the teacher. ART Under the direction of Mr. Dodge, stu- dents master the fundamentals of art. Frank Wojcik, Elmer Wendt, Maynard Kutz, and Carol Gaudio are putting the finishing touches on their Hallowe'en masks. Masks are just one of the many projects that confront art students. Art classes also help build and decorate scenery for dances, parties, and assemblies. ART lflDll.S'7'RMl ART l. 'L MANUAL ART Bloom, as a modern high school, offers courses in all trades that are present here in the community. One such course is cabinet making. The pix shows Mr. Kuras demonstrating the techniques of drilling. With new facilities the boys aspiring to those vocations have a greater opportu- nity in the shop courses. Besides cabinet making, general woods, freshman shop, px V INDUSTRIAL ARTS Donning shatter-proof glasses, the vo- cational machine shop students work on the lathes. Machine shop, like many other shop courses, continues for two periods. The boys learn many phases of a machin- ist trade, such as drilling, using a punch press, a grinder, and a lathe. Auto mechanics, welding, and foundry, are the other courses offered in the Indus- trial Arts curriculum. and the drawing classes comprise the rest of the manual arts. Mdlllllll ARI'
