Charles Plogman leads the 3:20 parade. THE YEAR The year 195251953 was indeed an unusual year here at Bloom. This was the year that the enrollment swelled to an all-time high of 2306. To accommo- date this increased student body, a new addition was made to the building, and plans were undertaken for additional construction. This year saw the return of Mr. james Steclcel to the faculty alter a year's tenure in Korea. This was also the year that our football team returned to its winning ways of seasons past. This year, too, the girls' archery team won the state champion- ship for the third consecutive year. These were just a few of the year's highlights, there were dozens more, These, coupled with the traditional dances, football and basketball games, Friday nights at the Morgue, and, last but not least, classes at school,provid- ed an outstanding year. First period, Sept. 3, 1952 PUZZLED FROSH You can spot 'em every time is a much-used phrase during the opening days of school. The 'T 'emu naturally refers to those who for one year must bear the brunt of every upperclass- man's wrath-the freshmen. f'lere we see one unfortunate entering his first class. Uncertain, isn't he?

It could be, however, that the toll gentlemen on his lelt, Mr. George l-lamlin, will give him a little aid. lhis, as you've probably guessed, is one ol Bloomis many geometry classes, l'lere, students become acquainted with theorems, postulates, proofs, and all the other things that are involved in the study ol plane geometry. l-lad we peelced into Mr. Robert Andrews' 7th hour advanced algebra class, we probably would hear him and his class ol seniors involved in a discussion olellipsesand hyper- bolas.
