The class of 56 is holding their class reunion at Marion Modie's Hollywood Home in Beverly Hills, California. Let's take a look around and see how things have changed in the last few years. Seated on the patio are the happily married couple, Marge Moser and Dick Florczyk, whohave justcom- pleted their family of football players. Now they are hoping for acheerleader for the team. Also on the patio is the film producer, Bob Livesay and his wife, Florence Szmurlo, who are showing a preview of their latest movie, Fire and Ice , co-starring Frank Grago and Stella Adamski with Carol Mc Gruigan. Margie Makow- ska, Mary Casson, Mike Guyette, Gary Beaubiah, and Jim Gardner. Over on the other side is John Evans, who has now taken over the Arthur Murray dancing studio with Claire La Manna and George Schmitt as head in- structors, trying to teach the Charlotte Demarest Dancers , who are Anna Rossi, Alieciea Kane, Carol Lago, Edith Roth, Pat Merril, Larry Basquette, Joe La Croix, Bill Dorsey, and Gene Sgroi, a new swing step. Joe Poli and Tony Picclotti have gone up in the world. They are seen drinking champagne and cocktails at Dick Wrenn's 'Bird Room' everyday and seem to be enjoying this. Gerry Grzeslk, the famous model, has just arrived in her baby-blue Messerschmitt with Eddie Kraynak as her chauffeur. Rushing to meet her at the door, are playboys, Tony Kutsherenko, Frank Wrobel, and Tom Sheridan. Over in the swimming pool are Anne Gosch, Helen Wertyschyn, and Maria Palywoda showing off their world renowned water ballet. Our two famous athletes seem very interested in watching the bathing beauties. They are Bill Appel and Pete Peparata, the star players of the Yanks. Coming over to their table is someone who'll change their minds, undoubtedly. It's Peggy Eichenlaub, 'Miss America of 1960 , with the president of the Sloober Club, Dick Humberstone. I A few tables away is Cathy Kwiek, our famous hair stylist, who has made the headlines again--this time with her new hair dye that turns color to match any outfit you wear. She's having quite a discussion with Dorothy Gam, the well-known cosmetologist. She owns the biggest cosmetic industry in the world. Her latest discovery has revolutionized the lipstick business. This lipstick is guaranteed to double your money back if you don't catch your man. It's irresistible. Joiningthe two ladies is Dave Pratt, our class mechanic, who has invented a new type of sportscar, the Prattmobile , which is said to run a hundred miles on a quart of gas- oline. ' I By now the guests seem a little famished, but to the rescue come Dorothy Hujar and Sue Teska, Marion's maids, to pass out the old time favorite, pizza. It couldn't taste more deliciousg that is, what's left of it, because Chef Nick Currado does quite a bit of tasting while preparing a meal and as a result his appetite has grown larger and so has his stomach. Back in the living room is Dick Shoff, famous game hunter, who's just back from a safari in Africa. He is trying to persuade Carroll Page to buy his hides and ivory to glamorize her New York apartment, but devilish John Czajkowski has already auctioned them off. Sitting on the sofa are the class entertainers, Effie Johnson, Tony Holloid, Bill Kianka, Mike Galasky, and Lowell Johnson. Effie has taken over Liberace's TV program and made a few changes. She now plays with a boogie -woogie beat and has replaced the candleabra with kerosene lamps. Tony, Bill, and Mike now star on the Colgate Comedy Hour as the 'Three Stooges. Lowell has taken over Eddie Fisher's Coke Time' program. but instead of drinking a bottle of Coke, he shows how it removes rust off chrome. Gosh--there seems to be quite a scuffle outside. ln comes Bob Wolniak and Stanley Lalone, chief guards of the estate, dragging in Le- ona White, Marion Dengler, Joan Gray, and Lidia Kiritschenko, who were caught peeking through the bushes. They were too shy to come in. Over near the fireplace is Carol Grucelska, famous fashion designer, talking to big -car driver, Dick Dab- rowski. Dick must be telling her about all the races he has won, or maybe he wants an original Road-Runner jacket designed by her. The next little group is Carol Sterner, with her all-girl band entertaining Dave Lo- renz and Linda Minney's trained monkeys, and oh, my gosh, here comes Dick Bonner, now a towering six- footer, who owes his height to Tom Garn and Bob Burgess's Grow-Taller pills. Running by us is Joe Caruso, who has made the headlines as being most eligible bachelor of 1971, with Willa Garrison and Arlene Skurski chasing him fora lock of hair. We have just received a telegram delivered by Matty Hoh'nes, informing us that Bruce Finney, who was always fond of dissecting frogs, has now a job with Dick Pietrowiez's Undertaking Establishment. And lo and behold, we see that the tables are turned as we observe Ken Magdziuk, who is still chasing Judy Goldschmidt after 15 years. Judy has a school for teaching the Whip-Walk' . She is being besieged by Margie Hall and Rosemary Goldschmitt, who are trying to enroll in her school. Out on the front lawn is an awful com- motion. Everyone runs out, led by Shirley Quarles, to find Tom Burchi11andBi11 Shampine bubbling with ex- citementover the fact that Gladys Alexander has just finished swimming across the Pacific Ocean to join our reunion. Bob Wo jdy la, who collected money forour yearbook, is now bumming Odds' to pay for the yearbooks he never sold. Driving up in a Prattmobi1e is Pat Kominski with a tall, dark, and handsome man seated beside her. Up from the crowd comes a mighty cheer as Margie Stein yells, She's caught her manl James Twiss informs us that Alice Towne has just taken the Dian Ford Art Supply Company from her poker-playing friend. Our senior year looked far away at the time of our entrance into the red brick structure on Oswego Street. Yes, this was our freshman year at Blodgett Vocational High School. As we enviously watched the upper- classmen. we all hoped that the days would fly by quickly to the time when we would be envied. When we passed on to our sophomore year, we felt brave enough to join in the school activities. We cer- tainly felt big looking down on the new crop of freshmen and making friends among the upperclassmen. This was a year in which we were very thankful, for a big new gym was built for us. And what a victorious year it was for our baseball team since Vocational made the city championship. Mr. Whiteside was added to the faculty as our new principal to replace Dr. Lang. We all found him helpful to us in the following two years. Passing, with a push from our brave teachers, we became excited juniors. We were greeted this year by 3 new vice principal, Mr. Broscoe, who lost no time in becoming our friend. Our junior year was darkened by the death of Marie Sposato, one of our friends in the senior class. At last the long awaited year arrived. There were so many things to do that we never had time to waste. The football, basketball, and baseball teams had never-ending practice in their seasonsg the cheerleaders found that practicing all stunmer wasn't enough, so a half hour before and after school occupied their timeg and the Choraliers and the Trebelettes by,their splendid performances showed that they, too, had practiced. The Yearbook Staff discovered that organizing a yearbook was far from easy. It took a lot of work, worry, and money, but we finally arranged a spectacular edition. The preparation for these activities wasn't all work and H0 play. f0I f00IbH11. basketball, and baseball games, the Choraliers Ball, the Senior Prom, the Allied Youth conference at Buckhill Falls, and Election Day for new Student Council officers gave us a big reward for all the hard work we had done. The senior meetings, our class rings, and our graduation pictures will help us to remember the wonderful times we had at Vocational, but most of all we 'll always remember the night we stepped up on the stage in answer to names to receive our cherished diplomas. Remembering all this brings laughter, pleasure, wondel-mem, satisfaction, and a little sadness.
