Homecoming Activities Homecoming activities at Blinn College began with a bonfire and climaxed with the announcement of the home- coming queen at halftime of the Buc- Henderson County game on Saturday. A bonfire was held north of the Academic Building beginning at 8. The Blinn Drama Department presented Noel Coward's Blithe Spiritn on Thursday and Friday nights. Perform- ances were scheduled for 7:30 p. m. in the Performing Arts Building on campus. Director of the production is Mrs. Bobbie Dietrich. The homecoming queen election was held on Thursday. The six finalists, elected from a field of 35 candidates, their hometdwns, and the clubs they represented were Cindy Breeden, Smith- ville, Phi Theta Kappag Diane Brown, Bellaire, Circle Kg Patti Cook, Devine, Blinn Players, Margaret Auggie Darr, I-lallettsville, Tomachefsky Hall, Kim Kitchen, Crosby, Campus Fellowship, and Debbie Rolan, Houston, Holleman Hall. Friday night, a dance, sponsored by the Blinn Ex-Students Association, was held at the Sons of Hermann Hall, begin- ning at 9:30 p. m. The dance was open to ex-students as well as present students on campus. Admission was free. Homecoming events kicked off Saturday at 9:30 a. m. in the Student Center with a coffee, meeting, and tour of the campus for members of the Ex-Students Association. Saturday afternoon judging took place for the Circle K sponsored dormi- tory decoration contest. This year's theme was Halloween. At 6 p. m. a reception for home- coming queen nominees and their escorts as well as for Student Council members and their dates was held. Attention focused on Spencer Athletic Field at 7:30 p. m. when the Blinn Buccaneers entertained the Henderson County Cardinals. The crowning of the new homecoming queen and entertainment by the Buccaneer Marching Band and Treasures highlighted halftime activ- ities. Circle K Club sponsored an Ugly Man Contest.
