Physical Educa- tion offers unique opportunities in devel- oping desirable character and social traits as well as defined responsibilities toward the physical development of the individual. Increased strength and improved health practices are not only ends in themselves but also are means to better adjustment to society. The department strives toward the acceptance and development of the student -socially, emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Division of Natural Science Science has played a very instrumental role in our modern technological society, and in the future science will probably play an even greater role. It is therefore, imper- ative that everyone has a basic knowledge of science as well as an understanding of the scientific method. Blinn College offers a variety of courses in the scientific field that are designed to better equip our students for the future. General courses in biology and chemistry are available for liberal arts majors who will not need additional science courses. For the students who require a more extensive back- ground in scientific training, basic courses in biology, chemistry, and physics are offered.
