51 Sandra Gamett With ,lane Dostal and Janice Rab com- bining for 40 points and 22 rebounds, Blinn's Lady Bucs captured a 67-4-0 victory over North Harris junior College on November 8 in the lVlcn's Gymnasium. The visitors saw the lead only once, a 4-3 edge early in the first half, during the contest. From then on, the Lady Bucs' superior inside players, paced by Dostal, freshman from Bice Consolidated, Balm, freshman from Victoria, and Liz Chaloupka, freshman from Moulton, chipped in 29 points to give Blinn a 31-17 hal f-time advan- tage. During the second half, the Lady Bucs built up a sizeable margin, which twice reached 31 points, in putting their oppo- nents away. Bali headed the pack with 10 second-half points. Following Rab in second half scoring totals were Dostal with 7 pointsg Chaloupka with 5 points, Morehead and Sandra Garrett, freshman from Snook, with 4 points each, and Frcytag, Aprile Russell, freshman from Pickering, Louisiana, and Donna Bohuslav, freshman from Nloullion with 2 points apiece. Lisa Edwards, fresh- man from Victoria, Becky Barnett, sopho- more from lVIcCreary, Kentucky, and Judy Sherrill, freshman from Lexington, also saw playtime in the final 20 minutes of action. On thc evening, Dostal snared 12 rebounds and passed out one assist while lm gi l Leslee Kammeyer North Harris 40 Blinn 67 Bah finished with 10 caroms and one assist. Chaloupka followed with 7 rebounds and 1 assist. Freytag and Bohuslav chalked up 3 rebounds each with Moorehcad and Edwards following with 2 and 1 rebounds respec- tively. Freytag excelled defensively with 6 steals as lVloorehead and Bab collected four thefts apiece. Garnett followed with a pair while Dostal posted a steal. Moorehead passed out a steady diet of assists with 5 perfect Losses. With this 67-40 victory, Blinn's record moves to 1 win and 1 loss on the season. The Lady Buesi next home game is slated for November 20 with a 7:30 tip-off time. ,lane Dostal stated after the game, We have a long way to go, but this is a good way to open our home season.
