Division of Fine Arts The Fine Arts Department offers a means of self-expression to the Blinn students. Abilities and talents are recog- nized, utilized, and developed. Speech students develop good speaking habits and learn about content in a speech. Students participate in area and State Speech meets and drama festival. Students in drama courses, theory and production, participate in produc- tions. Both instrumental and vocal musi- cians find many areas for participation in performing groups. Classroom and laboratory situations provide opportun- ities for development of musical skills and knowledge. The Drill Team offers opportunities for performing and training. Bobbie Dietrich Dramatics, Speech l Robert Mueller journalism, Speech Dramatic Play Set at Blinn jean Kerr's successful comedy, Mary, Mary was the dramatic selection produced in the Blinn Theatre of the Performing Arts Building. lt was sched- uled for 8 p. m. showings on Wednes- day, Thursday and Friday nights of Oct. 26, 27, and 28, according to Mrs. W. O. Dietrich, director of speech and drama at Blinn College. Reserved tickets were 52 or Sl with a Blinn Activity Card. Reser- vations were made by calling 713-836- 9933 between 8 a. m. and 4 p. m. Mary, Mary, is a delightful comedy about the regluing of a marriage that has come unstuck, an old Broadway comedy situation, transformed into an original and riotous evening in the theatre. The author jean Kerr, writes splendid, dryly comic dialogue and has a priceless gift of noticing and pointing out the extra- ordinary humor in ordinary things. Other literary works by Kerr include, Please Don't Eat the Daisies, The Snake Has in . 3' L its Marian K. Williams Piano, Music All the Lines, and Our Hearts Were Young and Gay. Cast members include joanne Coronna of Houston, Marcus Evans, Bastrop, David Griffith, Brenham, Cathy Eiland, Houston, and jim Tom House, Brenham. . W. O.
