Solons Dormitory Solons Hall is the largest dormitory on the campus for men. For the past four years, Solons Hall has won the plaque for the best homecoming decorations. Rachel Spencer Dormitory Rachel Spencer Dormitory was named in honor of Mrs. Rachel Spencer, wife of Dr. T. M. Spencer who was president of Blinn College from 1947-1957. This was the first girls' dormitory which is the second home for the twenty-six girls who live and laugh together throughout the year. The basic purpose of the organization is to promote a closer unity among the girls and to aid the Dormitory Supervisor in the affairs of the dormitory. The young ladies realize that this is part of a college education. This year the girls won first place on their dormitory decoration contest for homecoming. Mrs. Lobello, dormitory supervisor for many years, always has an open door for each and every girl. Spencer Hall provides the fellowship and companionship that is needed away from home. The highlights of the year are the parties given by Mrs. Martha Lobello. There is an informal birthday party given each month. The Christmas party, a joyful occasion, climaxes with the exchanging of gifts. The girls appreciate Mrs. Lobello's many services that she performs.
