Newman Club The Newman Club, an organiza- tion of Catholic students, helps to promote fellowship and unity on the campus of Blinn College. At regular meetings, members plan activities, view films which examine an important moral issue, discuss current topics of religion, and receive spiritual guidance from the club chaplain. During the school year, the club participates in the Regional Newman Convention at the University of Texas. The club also engages in other activities, including socials and a toy-for-tots party. The gifts donated by students at the party are given to needy children in the Christmas season. For their assistance this year, we would like to express our gratitude to Carl Steinbach, Daniel Schiller, and Father Patrick Murphy. 84 Religious Clubs

Meeting for morning watch daily and vespers twice per week, the students attempt through singing, prayer, Bible study, and general discussion to keep themselves related to Christ while on the campus and to relate school life to the church by promoting church attendance among members. BSU intends to be the arms of Christ reaching out to others: the eyes of Christ, seeing the world in need: and the mouth of Christ, telling the story of salvation to all who will listen.
