Charles Cottingham, Chairman Science Department The Science Department has courses for every student. There are special courses for students who pursue scientific careers. The curriculum includes courses which were de- signed to assist the non-science major stu- dents in meeting their laboratory science requirements for liberal arts degrees. The study of history, economics, geography, government, sociology, and psychology aids in the understanding of man. Also the field of sociology and psychology affords an opportunity for meeting the needs of students through individualized learning and evaluation. Special reading's permit oral sharing of current information from periodicals, collected readings and newspapers which result in self direction and student re- sponsibility for his intellectual growth and development. Classroom management and facilities often take on a new look as groups form circles: as the instructor becomes the facilitator: as the instructor converses with an individual: or as a student becomes the leader at the lectern.
