Henderson 1 2 Blinn 13 With the hard nose running of Ronnie Nlelancon, and a stingy defense, the Bucs captured the undisputed lead in the con- ference, beating the Henderson County Cardinals, 13-12. The game which highlighted two tough defenses had sporadic scoring throughout the game. ln the first quarter the Bucs drew first blood on a 44 yard field goal by Donnie Bockhorn. But the Cardinals were not to be denied and came back in the second quarter with a 25-yard field goal after they were unable to puncture the Buc defense. Then a charge late in the second quarter occurred. After slowly grinding away at the Buc defense, the Cardinals finally punctured it on a 39-yard dash by fullback Larry Sims. After the PAT, the Bucs found themselves behind, 10-3. After the Cardinal kickoff, Steve Gil- more set up the night's top offensive play by Michael Glasscock, Full Back 180 throwing a nine yard pass to David Henson to the 29 yard line. On 'the next play, Henson, from his split position, ran a deep pattern and made a brilliant catch between two defenders and raced to paydirt 72 yards away tying the score 10-10. After a scoreless third quarter, the Bucs went to work again. Bockhorn kicked his second field goal from 25 yards out and the Bucs led 13-10. Floyd Hogan, making himself re- cognized, intercepted a pass at the Blinn 6 on the next Cardinal possession. After the Buc offense sputtered and failed to move the ball, Markley Mills dropped back to punt. But to the dismay of the fans he began to run! Then he fell into his own end zone giving the Cardinals a two point safety. The strategy of this play was that the Bucs now had a free kick. The kick was not returned, and the game ended with another adrenalin flowing victory. The Bucs will face the Kilgore Rangers next Saturday, Oct. 21. Although losing two close games,. the Rangers will still be packing a potent offense and a strong defense that the Bucs must contain in order to win. Don Bockhorn, Line Back

Navarro 9 Blinn 1 0 With about 27 seconds left in the game and three Navarro pass defenders hanging on him, Floyd Hogan made a brilliant catch at the one yard line and fell into the end zone for the tying touchdown. Donnie Bockhorn, with mechanical ease, then kicked the winning PAT. These were the type of tension packed plays that occurred within the final two minutes of the Navarro game, which the Bucs finally pulled through 10-9. The low score depicted a tough defen- sive battle between the two squads that was almost dead even until the opportunist Bucs finally got their offense rolling. The only scoring, in addition to the winning touchdown, were four field goals, three of which were Navarro's. Bockhorn was responsible for the only score other than the touchdown when he kicked a 31-yard field goal in the second quarter. Billy Mills, Quarter Back 179
