The Blinn College Bowling Team, organized in the 1959-60 school term, is under the direction of Dean of Student Activities, W. C. Schwartz. Immediate responsibility is placed in the hands of the team captain. The team represents the college in various tournaments. Besides this, the team bowls in regular league com- petition on Wednesday nights at the Brenham Bowlerama. The Blinn College team, sanctioned in its competition play, is eligible for any awards recognized by the American Bowling Congress. The bowlers on the 1966-67 team are as follows: Paul Bennett-second year, captain, won Brenham City Tournament doubles championship in 1963, 64, 66, and all-events championship in 1965. High sanctioned game of 289. Mike Hoke-first year bowler in league play and has high game of 265 in practice. j. Bill Dowdey-second year, co-captain, has had one 600 series in league competition. Bill is the most con- , sistent bowler on the team. John Britsch-first year bowler from Hondo,Texas,where he bowled a sanctioned 289 game in the City Tourna- ' ment in 1965 in the singles event. He won the singles event of that tournament. ,, John Eastburn-first year bowler on the team from the University of Tex as. John finished fifth in asingles tourna- Z ment held by the University of Texas in the summer of 1966, and was on the winning team of a mixed league at the University of Texas in the fall of 1965.
