Henderson County . . . .Whew! f Henderson County came to Brenham and put on a tremendous show of explosive power and speed. The stubborn Buccaneers held the potent Cardinal offense throughout the first period of play, but Henderson was . :1 not to be denied. They rolled up 21 points before the Bucs could get on the scoreboard. Late in the third i; quarter, Mike Hilliard led the Bucs to their first score of the night With a shower of aerials that ended With an 8 : yard pass to Wayne Williams. In the final period the Blue and White went I h 3.5 on the move again, and once again Hilliard passed to Williams for the g score. The clock ran out with Blinn trying desperately to push across , a another score and the game ended- Henderson 21 and Blinn 1 2. 1 ? A Tremendo us Victory The battling Bucs unleased their fury on Navarro early in the opening period and never let up. The first score came When Mike Hilliard tossed a short pass to Roland Reichardt who then made his way through the secondary and raced 81 yards to the end zone. In the second quarter the same Hilliard-Reichardt combination made good a 32 yard pass play for another tally, and Wayne Williams booted the point after. In the third quarter, Ricky Elliott picked off a Navarro aerial and returned it to the 20 yard line. Two plays later, fullback Richard Garza carried it in for the score. Tailback Ray Stelter capped off the fourth Blinn drive of the evening with a 3 yard plunge to pay dirt. Navarro then lofted a beautiful pass into the waiting arms of Reichardt, the busy freshman from Sealy. And Then Kilgore Kilgore accounted for its sixth win of the season without a single loss, 31 to 6 at the expense of the Bucs. However, the score hardly tells the story. The Bucs gave them a fight, but their defense seemed invincible when they were backed up against their own goalline. The highlight of the evening came when Blinds speedy soph- omore Ray Stelter returned a kickoff 96 yards for the only Buccaneer tally.
