Walter Sch Schwartz Hall, built in 1965, and named in honor of the Dean of Student Personnel Services, W. C. Schwartz, houses fifty-two men under the super- vision of the competent dormitory matron, Mrs. Gladys Powell. The co-operation of the men with Mrs. Powell and the officers resulted to the interest and excellent showing of school spirit by participating in Home- coming activities, Fish Day, Intramural football, and intramural basketball. To have Christmas spirit, the men joined the Sewing Circlett and had their first lesson in stringing popcorn to decorate the Christmas tree. At the Christmas Party Big H6 played Santa Claus by giving everyone a gift. The members in the dormitory will remember the many pleasures and disappointments experienced in the dormitory. Losing chair privileges in the cafeteria, the fish sat comfortably on the floor while they enjoyed their tasty food. Then they, attired in their costumes, attended the first two periods of their classes. With the beginning of the third period, the activities of the day swung into high gear. The fish were paraded over the campus, collected trash, entered into events in the center of the football field, or they were put to work at washing cars under the watchful eye of the upperclassmen.
