Press Club The Press Club, added in 1966 to the campus organizations, includes the Annual Staff and the Newspaper Staff. , The purposes of the Club are to stimulate in- terest in student publications, to enhance the quality of these media, and to aid in perpetuating the stand- ards and ideals of Blinn College. The Press Club has promoted campus activities, has recorded noteworthy events, and has brought stimulating speakers to Blinn. At the Press Club Banquet, Leon Hale, a well- known writer, was the guest speaker who shared his writing experiences and discussed the new trends in journalism. After the banquet, Leon Hale, the administration, and members of the Club enjoyed coffee and fellow- ship at the home of Wilfred Dietrich, Annual Staff sponsor. Ushers and Usherettes Reserved seats were available for the first time this year to all home football games. Prior to the first home game, PhiBeta Lamb- da members sold tickets for the reserved seat section. Club members then volunteered to serve as ushers and usherettes to assist purchasers of those seats to the proper locations. Sandra Woods served as chairman of the ushers and usherettes. Gladys Pekar, First Vocabulary; Donald Mikeska, First Extemporaneous Speaking; Beverly Benker, State Sec- retary; and Gladys Winkelmann, Fourth Miss Future Business Executive mot picturedl. Phi Beta Lambda sells programs at all home football games. All work is volunteered by club members. Profits from last years sales went into the purchasing of jackets for members who sold programs. The jackets are dark blue with the PBL crest on the left side. Sales Chairman was Fred Wettling and money counter was Gladys Winkelmann.

After many hours of scrubbing, the members painted the room! white and black. The room is used. by the Blinn Log Staff. The Press Room houses the binded Blinn Logs of the past and the Buccaneer yearbooks. Each editor has his own mail box and place to work.
