Student Council Herman Schoenemann Members Ruby Beckendorf Ronald Braun James Charles Ephraim Gay Gardiner Mary Ann Guelker William Kutzschbach Yvette Murray Pete Raif James Reinhardt Michael Saunders Melvin Schoenemann Rosemary Stegemueller Patsy Surovik Daniel Vasicek Repres entative Sponsor Mu Alpha Theta, the national high school and junior college mathematics club, was organized in 1954 under the sponsorship of Pi Mu Epsilon, the National Collegiate Honor Society in Mathematics. The first chapter for Mu Alpha Theta was issued in 195 7. Currently there are over one thousand chapters. Blinn received its charter in the Fall of 1966. The Club has nineteen members. The purpose of the Mu Alpha Theta is to engender keener interest in mathematics, to de- velop sound scholarship in the a subject, and to promote enjoy- , ment and appreciation of math- ematics among high school and junior college students. vghh' .e

The Christmas Social The Konza Klub held a Private Christmas Dance and Social prior to the Christmas holidays. The dance was held in the Student Center for members and their dates who thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Music was provided by the Wee Hours. The organization sponsors private activities to pro- mote friendship and understanding among its members and nonmembers on the campus. One of the basic requirements in the business world is getting along with people. The organization feels that this is one of its basic objectives. Billie,1et us show Carole our art of dancing!!

Club officers serve refreshments, On Monday night, December 12, 1966, the Mathematics Club held its first initiation inthe Student Center. The guest speaker was Werner Keidel who was born in East Germany. Presently he resides in Bellville. His topic for the evening pertained to the different phases in the work of computers. On April 7, 1967, the Club initiated two new members into the Club and four associate members became members. The two new members are James Ephraim and James Reinhardt. 157
