Treasurer I ,. i Lewis Head ........................... Secretary J ' , The Blinn College Chapter has I moved into a year filled with services: i to the campus and to the community. W The club entered the year under the' , leadership of President Don Stewart. T Serving with Don as officers for thel fall semester were Kenneth James, T vice president; Jim Clayton, treas- 7 urer; and Lewis iiBumpy,, Head, secretary. The first project of the club was ? collecting coat hangers to raise funds for service projects. The club operated the concession stands at all home , football games. The Circle K actively supported the idea of increasing school spirit for Homecoming. The club sponsored the dormitory decorating contest and awarded trophies to Spencer Hall for first place and Schwartz Hall for second place. Before the Blinn Homecoming, the Circle K mem bers and the Konza Klub members made torches for the traditional torch light parade. The profits were donated to the yearbook fund to be used in cover- ing the expenses of color pages. The Circle K entered into the social life of the Blinn College with an after game dance during football season. They had a private party so the new club members could become acquainted with each other. The group enjoyed the music that was provided by T. G. Collieris band. The activity brought closer unity to the Club mem- bers. As special service projects, the club members took food to a needy family at Thanksgiving and to three needy families at Christmas. The basic service project of the Club was to awa rd a fifty dollar scholarship to a Blinn a student who was a member of the club. Circle K Undertakes New Projects The service projects of the Circle; 45.. ' K included serving as the co-chairman T ? for the Mothers March during the i T March of Dimes Drive, decorating a float for the Maifest, and aiding in the ; promotion of other civic projects on '- the school campus and in the city. , - One of the important responsi- h bilities of each year was the keeping and updating of the scrap book. The f u scrap book is to be displayed at the international convention in Ottowa, ? Canada, in 1967. Wilfred O. Dietrich, Dr. Joel Johnson, Robert Mueller, Daniel Schiller, and W.C. Officers Schwartz. Secretary Travis Brewer Treasurer The Club frequently had fund raising projects for the purpose of carrying: forward its many services. The first fund raising project was a coat hangert , drive. In the picture, Mrs. HJ. Boehm graciously gives coat hangers to there Club. The Club worked with the Kiwanis in assisting them with the Salt Grass 4 Trail and other community projects.
