We are proud that one of our members, Mr. Mike Makuh, has been elected County Superintendent of Schools- the first Benld man to be elected to a county office. We feel that he is well qualified for the position. His college education has included work at the following schools: Black- burn college - Assoc. LA S. , Southern Illinois, B. Ed, Illinois State Normal, University of Illinois - M. S. , Uni- versity of Washington, Middlebury ( Vermont ) College, Harvard University, University of Missouri, St. Louis Music and Arts University, Ohio University, and Teachers' College, Columbia University where he completed the work for his Doctor of Education degree. He has had some gra- duate study in both Mexico and France. He has twenty years of teaching experience, was formerly a coal miner, and is a veteran of World War II.
