this was the teaching staff Behind those ordinary faces was ac- tually a group of hard working individ- uals among whose tasks were monitor- ing halls, rushing students to class, risking their physical well-being to separate fights, keeping watch to see that there was absolutely no “bodily contact , racking their brains to think of money making projects for their clubs or classes, grading papers, lis- tending to the students' problems and excuses for not having their homework or not doing their class work, having to lecture students for disturbing classes, trying to figure out what students could do for extra grade credit, letting students out of class for extra curricu- lar activities, filling out report cards, attending teachers' meetings after school, making lesson plans, taking oc- casional rests in the teachers' lounge, and finally finding time to conduct classes.
