WHO’S WHO AMONG AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS is an honor award which is obtained by juniors and seniors for demonstrating achievement in academics, athletics or extra-curricular activities. Students must have a cumulative grade point average of “B” or better. Those nominated for Who's Who are eligible to compete for scholarship awards. The flag girls represent the school by raising and lowering the flag each day. Office workers take on the responsibility of the financial transactions and run school errors. Is the Success of Tomorrow a ° These students received their Honor Letter this year. STANDING: Linda Atwell, John Sarver, Lonnie Thomas. FRONT ROW: Wendi Price, Laura Gordon, Geneva Clark. Each year at Bland High, students who have attained a grade average of 95 or above receive an Honor letter or bar. Students who qualify for the first time receive a letter and a bar is given to students who qualify for more than one year. Teresa Tolbert was the recipient of the DAR award and was also a double bar student. The DAR award is given each year to the senior girl who has demonstrated qualities of leadership, citizenship, and participation in school activities. The members of the senior class nominate three girls and the teachers vote selects the winner. Randy Strock (standing) and Jeff Cassell (seated) acquired their first bar. The following students are members of the Society of Distinguished American High School Students: Jeff Cassell, Geneva Clark, Laura Gordon, Teresa Tolbert. The Society of Distinguished American High School Students is an honor presented to students across the nation each year. It is the highest academic honor a student can receive. Honors — 11
