ELIZABETH G. NEWBERRY EDITOR ASST. EDITOR ADVISOR DEDICA DON In grateful appreciation of the guidance she has given us through the past five years, we, the senior class of 1978, proudly dedicate this edition of The Echo to our devoted sponsor, Mrs. Janet B. Faulkner. Mrs. Faulkner You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Their first year, the team had a 3- 3 season, and since that time the team has never had a losing record. Under Mrs. Tarter's direction, the team has compiled an overall record of 32 wins and 16 losses. Bland has captured the Mt. Empire District Championship 3 out of the 4 years the competition has been established, and team members have played in sectional or regional competition 4 out of the 5 years the team has been in existence. (In 1975 and 1977, doubles teams competed at State.) We would like to congratulate Mrs. Tarter and all of the team members on their outstanding record, and extend best wishes for a successful season to the 1978 team.
