 One Small Step For Man Slowly the white-clad figure descended the ladder. Upon reaching the bottom, he paused briefly as if uncertain of his movements. Then at 10:56 p.m. (E.D.T.) July 20,1969, U.S. Astronaut Neil Arm- strong set foot upon the moon and said, That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.
