Shannon, Secretary November 19, 1960 TO THE STUDENTS OF BLAND HIGH SCHOOL Congratulations to the students of Bland High School for your enthusiastic and cooperative efforts while working together toward a common objective in the- publication of your yearbook. By working and sharing ideas together you will succeed in the task at hand, but most important you are developing character and leadership and learning how to adapt yourself to our society and to your fellow man. You represent our future and the destiny of our country shall become your responsibility; your teachers, your training and the development of your potentials are the determining factors in our fate. We have confidence in you and the greatest compensation for those of us in professional education is to see you develope into well-rounded citizens and to succeed in your noble tasks. May your ideals be high and may you have a resilent spirit so that adversities and disappointments, which are surely to come, will become stepping stones to greater heights. Principal’s Message In following the school philosophy in which we believe that the ideal school is the life-centered school, which helps each student attain an ever increasing ability to face life's perplexing problems with satisfaction and success, we, as teachers and educators hope that most students can attain this goal. We have tried to fit our curriculum to the needs of the individuals as near as we can without depriving any one student. This yearbook that you, members of the Echo Staff, are completing is part of the activities that are planned for students to take part in and to do. You have achieved success in this endeavorment. My heartiest congratulations to you for this good work and in the years that lie ahead students will receive many happy memories by going back through this year's Annual. 5
