The more conventional way to spend lunch is with friends. There are many possibilities ranging from fast food places, restaurants, delis, the paddy wagon, the cafeteria, and the Coke machine in the gym. On nice days, students would rather get a quick bite and spend time outside writh friends. Teachers Ms. Collier, Ms. Roller, and Ms. Boutwell enjoy quiet away from the kids as they enjoy the springlike weather. Kathy Winnard, Alicia Hyatt, Kim Berkshire, and Sheila Defibaugh decide to catch up on honu-uork during lunch break. (Far left): Trent Stephens and Laura Brooks practice the hug 'em close” dance — this has got to be better than lunch — (l ft): Surely Terry May isn't getting papers to study during lunch. He must be helping one of his fellow students.

Lunchtime there are many ways to spend it. While some students use their lunch hour to study, others to visit with friends, and some to sleep, there are those animals who become totally absorbed in eating. James Claborn, Les Willard, and Brad Loftin seem to be racing through their meal. It was a spaghetti-eating race sponsored by the H.S. music department, and it drew a variety of competitors. (Above) Tony James seems to have slowed down, but then notice how many bowls he has. (Above right) Greg Ogle, Meat Hall, and Allen Auld take this eating business seriously as Larry May and Mimi Cove offer encouraging words. Pete Frullo watches in admiration as Jimmy Parsons appears to have devised a method of raking it in that seems to work.

Styl c ore influenced by TV, Movies, Magazines, and Athletes. odcrn fashion from blue jeans to ties, from sweats to long dresses, from tennis shoes to Ropers — has hit BUS. It seems most anything is “in now, and Blanchard students sport a wide spec trum of attire. (Right): I.uld and li.J. -show their oxfords and ties while Joe demonstrates the 'Miami Vice look (not quite Don Johnson, though). Different is definitely evident these fashions as BUS students gather at lunch. David (right) models the popular jean jacket while (far right) Ronnie and Joe hang around in typical Western clothing. Stripes and prints were commonplace in the classriMim (helou right).
