Mrs. Mabel Lewis began her leaching career with only one semester of college and a temporary leaching certificate. She taught all subjects in the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades while also serving as janitor, cook and coach of the boys' and girls' basketball games and the baseball team. She later served as the principal also. Before coming to Blanchard four years ago, Mrs. Lewis had taught at Achille, Blue, Washington, Murray Stale College, and OCU. Mrs. Lewis has seen many changes in education and students. She thinks students today are more knowledgeable and more healthy but they lack the desire to learn and lack respect lor authority. Her students here at Blanchard, though, have been a joy to have and have, we know, enjoyed her. We shall all truly miss Mabel Lewis. Catmint D Wheeler. W Sharp, M Spencer, 0. Lee Ru Drlvart: K.
