It was one of the largest groups ever with a total of 64 members. All of the girls worked very hard to support the football team and to raise money for the All-Sports banquet. They sold ribbons, mums, candy, ink pens, photo coupons, and T-shirts. The homecoming parade sponsored by the pep club was a great event with its fantastic floats. During homecoming week each girl made a candy box and a sign for the football boys. The crowning of Queen Denise Lewis was the highlight of homecoming week. The Pep Club also decorated halls each week, held snake dances and bonfires. The cheerleaders exhibited great spirit this year, working hard for each pep assembly. Their enthusiasm helped the year to be very successful. With the help of sponsors Debbie Dunsworth, Virginia Vickers, and Barbara Mize, the 1977 High School Pep Club has made this a super-great year! 25
