Photography equipment and a new dark room added the availability of pictures for the annual which was made possible by the Blanchard News. The trip to Central State helped us learn the technique of cropping and how to set up a layout. Although the staff was entirely new to yearbook producing, they did an excellent job of creating a lasting memory of their high school days. Gayla works hard in annual staff. 22 Give Us Any Chance We'll Take It rjani3£ altars $ 23 Top Row S. Hooper. D. McKinney. A. Walls. J. Bowser. M. Hale. C. Waggoner. 2nd Row: J. Haliburton. C. All of the girls worked very hard to support the football team and to raise money for the All-Sports banquet. They sold ribbons, mums, candy, ink pens, photo coupons, and T-shirts. The homecoming parade sponsored by the pep club was a great event with its fantastic floats. During homecoming week each girl made a candy box and a sign for the football boys. The crowning of Queen Denise Lewis was the highlight of homecoming week. The Pep Club also decorated halls each week, held snake dances and bonfires. The cheerleaders exhibited great spirit this year, working hard for each pep assembly. Their enthusiasm helped the year to be very successful. With the help of sponsors Debbie Dunsworth, Virginia Vickers, and Barbara Mize, the 1977 High School Pep Club has made this a super-great year! 25 MEMBERS OF THE LION BAND: G. Gilbreath. D. We won First Place in the Homecoming Parade with our Snoopy float, the Lady Lions won the District Tournament for the first time in thirteen years, and the boy’s baseball team made it to the State Tournament for the second straight year by winning the District and Regional tournaments. We faced our final year with excitement and many expectations. Our year was filled with the usual activities — the ordering and delivery of pictures, announcements, and caps and gowns. Two of the biggest events of all were our Junior-Senior Banquet and our Senior Trip to Grand Lake. When the year came to an end, we faced it with mixed emotions, and the old familiar strains of “Pomp and Circumstance” caused many misty eyes. We realized that we were bringing an end to another chapter in our lives, and just beginning a new and larger one. CONGRATULATIONS SENIORS Mildred P. All year they worked very hard to raise money for one of the most promising Junior-Senior Banquets given. They have held pie socials, a chili supper, sold candy grams, and as a first, sold Goo Goo’s. Anticipation brought high spirits as they waited for their class rings. They participated in all areas of sports and helped to make winning teams. They were very active in homecoming and were all wrapped up in winning second in the float contest with their float, the Road Runner. E. James R. Johnston V. Jordan The Sophomore class of “78” had a very active year in all areas. They adjusted from being top of the junior high to the bottom of high school very well; in fact, being the largest class of high school helped a great deal. They participated in F.H.A., F.F.A., music, band, student council, pep club, lettermen’s club and all areas of sports. The girls had to suffer through pep club initiation (which was a lot of fun.) Cartoon characters was the homecoming theme and the Sophomores worked very hard on their float choice, the “Pink Panther.” Denise McKinney was their Homecoming Queen Candidate. Money-raising projects included working in concession stands and having the annual “Sophomore Slave Auction.” G. McEnlire D. McKinney L. Mitchell M. Moore M. Morgan C. Morton J. Myers N. Pearcy D. Horne The Freshmen really enjoyed being on top this year and made the most of their last year in Junior High. They elected James Lambert as President along with other officers and student council representatives. The Freshmen were proud to say they were really involved in all school organizations. Being so active, they have left their mark in high school, as well as junior high. They got off to a good start by entering Sylvester and Tweety as their choice for the class float. The Freshman sponsors were Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Stacy, and Mr. Keeler. L. Hunter M. James R. Johnston J. Killion J. Kitchens J. Lambert D. Ledford J. Ledford C. Lewis R. Lynch L Madden R. Madden S.
