 LIONS Win Homecoming, 9-6 HOMECOMING ACTIVITIES began with a parade this year sponsored by the LION PEP CLUB. Enthusiasm filled the air as the Blanchard LIONS rallied together to defeat the Newcastle Racers with a 9-6 win. Despite the rain and horrid weather the half time activities were not halted. During the half time Freeda Foster, the junior class candidate, was crowned as the 1974 Football Queen. A Victory Dance was held following the game to honor the team for their successful win. 22

The girls opened their year with freshman initiation and ended it with a trip and day on the town at the State F.H.A. Rally. The members adopted a foreign child and visited the cerebral palsy institute regularly. The F.H.A. members did many other helpful things and contributed greatly to civic projects. Banquets Given to Honor LIONS The 1973-74 school year's activities included many banquets for the Blanchard Lions. The Future Homemakers of America had their annual banquet. The highlight of the evening was the crowning of Randy Graham as the F.H.A. Beau. The Pep Club honored the athletes with an All-Sports Banquet in April. The players in each sport were given recognition. Neal Bridwell was crown fc as the Pep Club Beau. The Junior Class honored the graduating seniors with a Junior-Senior Banquet held in the McCalls Cafeteria in Norman. The Future Farmers of A-merica also held their annual banquet. Mr. Northington, F.F.A. advisor, gave awards to the boys who had made worthy contributions or improvements during the school year. 23
