The second year of the Blanchard Lion Band proved to be most successful. Band members sold Christmas trees, had a bake sale, sold tool kits, and sold Swiffy Cleaner to buy Blazers for the band members. They tried their wings (or Instruments) by playing during half-time ceremonies of Homecoming '73, the parade for Possum Jet, and numerous football games. The band also gave a Christmas Concert, and a May Concert. We had a busy year! That District Rally in Yukon! And that State Rally in Oklahoma City. The Grandmother s Tea and a Layette Shower for Mrs. Downing were the highlights of our year.
